Entry Document
Dear High School Students,
The History Channel recently experienced a fire and has lost a great deal of their World History information. They are designating students from different schools to redesign their lost information from certain historical time periods. Kelton ISD has been chosen to create a proposal on the Renaissance and Reformation particularly focusing on the historical accuracy of the “Canterbury Tales.” The proposal must include the following:
· Analysis of the selected tales to include:
· Essay
o Address intended audiences
o Compare and contrast differences in similar themes expressed in different time periods
o Analyze text information
o Explain the function of symbolism, allegory, and allusions in literary works
· Detailed analysis of time period including language, style, social structure
· primary and secondary sources used to examine historical accuracy and validity of tale
· Identification of bias and inaccuracies as in written, oral, and visual material
Proposals need to sufficiently describe and meet the criteria listed above. Proposals will be evaluated on historical accuracy, authenticity, creativity, and on how aesthetically appealing the project is.
With Best Regards,
History Channel Team
